MJUS, the new U.S. cannabis ETF hits the market

ETFMG builds out their cannabis suite of exchange traded funds with the launch of a new ETF: U.S. Alternative Harvest ETF (NYSEARCA:MJUS) which hits the market today. The new launch by ETFMG comes off the back of the popular ETFMG Alternative Harvest ETF (NYSEARCA:MJ), which has amassed $1.7B AUM since its launch in 2017.
MJUS is intended to provide market participants exposure to the cannabis industry in the United States, including multi-state operators specifically engaged in the production, cultivation, marketing, and distribution of cannabis and cannabis-related products.
Sam Masucci, Founder, and CEO of ETFMG, stated: “We are especially proud to be bringing yet another cannabis product to investors, specifically an ETF that captures one of the greatest untapped areas of growth potential in the industry,” as the United States offers untouched markets.
The United States is the world’s largest cannabis market, with sales exceeding $17.5B in 2020 and sales in 2019 of $12.1B, a growth of 46%. With 17 states offering legalized cannabis and more to come potentially, there appears to be a growing market.
