#160675 RE: B52T38 #160667

The answer has to do with big business and aid coming from the US, imo. The PI is trying to find a way to use Leronlimab without offending or usurping the US FDA and by default the big banks that are heavily invested in big pharma. It is a nuanced path that balances the two concerns. If the drug works as we hope and believe, many of those patients will be saved. At the same time the US FDA can say it was not an approved drug and did not complete Phase III clinical trials in the PI. No matter to me, as if LERONLIMAB is successful, doctors and patients will be talking about it, and that talk will spread like wildfire - organic growth! The beautiful thing about this situation is that politically the PI has to do something to save lives as even if they got vaccines quickly (which they can’t), it would take to long for the vaccines to start alleviating the overwhelming of their hospitals near term. The same is the case in Brazil, Chile, India, etc. These countries need relief now. There isn’t enough vaccine produced yet. Strain variants are circumventing efficacy of those vaccines anyway. Translation - LERON TO THE RESCUE!
