Designing a safe and effective antiviral for SARS-CoV-2, specifically, is a difficult task. Maybe ENTA will come through, in due course.

As SARS-Cov-2 will likely be around for quite some time, such a development will be important. If ENTA does develop one then its slow and deliberate approach from scratch will be validated as opposed to the throwing what you have at Covid-19 and hope it works.
