I recall reading an article a several years ago about asbestos.
For those who don’t know, asbestos was a widely used building material, later found to be a deadly carcinogenic.
If left undisturbed it was relatively safe, but when disturbed – deconstruction – renovations, it would kill you slowly by permeating into the lungs.
Over time your lungs would lose the ability to hold oxygen and deprive you of the ability to breathe.
Anyway, the article (I will see if I can find it again) was written by a certain Mohammed Zulfiquar.
As I vaguely recall he had developed and sold an “intelligent wall covering” paint or wall paper unsure
It had the ability to detect and alert the building, where asbestos was present, of a potential breach or comprise….a step change in the safety industry.
Fast forward to CIPPS, Intelligent and self-reporting pipes ( just as in the asbestos tech ) but more advanced….self reporting.
