If that's true, they paid someone to do something and didn't have the cash to pay so they paid in shares which would be executable if certain conditions are met, probably after a certain time period. I'd say if anything it's positive.
Could be that it was part of the large debt owed to Lam that is still in play as far as we know. Without the filings being up to date we can't tell how much of that has been settled.
