Probably do not want to short because people do not Bid Whack this stock so much, even on a walk down, the investors hold. it is the wrong stock to short!
I guarantee, there's a quiet squeeze going on. That wall of .17's was an attempt to keep the pps down. MMs do that in hopes that potential buyers will stay away if they see too much resistance going forward. In large part it works, too.
However, when demand for those shares exists (.17's), MMs realize either they better fill them with NSS shares (and ultimately lose money on them), or they mad dash to yank 'em from the ask.
my theory is that market makers are not behind most "fake walls". what happens is those who have orders on the ask suddenly realize they are making a big mistake by selling so low, and they all pull their orders, pretty much in unison. nobody wants to be the one who's stuck getting a pittance for their shares. :)
