gfp: I think the market could be poised for a major drop off. There are abundant anecdotal signs all around that we are in the last gasp of a credit fueled market bubble. The blow up of Archegos Capital that was operating with 10X leverage, the proliferation of SPACs, some of which have very vague plans about what they will do with the money they raise. It's South Sea Bubble time in the markets. There will come a point where continued Fed printing to buy bonds in order to suppress interest rates will no longer work. Loss of confidence in The Dollar will then require the Fed to tighten and the whole house of cards will collapse. We will see the VIX > 100 at some point when the market looks down like Wiley Coyote and sees nothing but a long drop below. An analyst podcast I listened to a few months age predicted a final push higher that maxes the S&P out no higher than 4500 before we see a generational Bear Market with index losses of 80% or more.
