Re: If the 65nms were all going to OEMs, how would we know what their presence is? It's not like the OEMs say anything about the process used to produce the processor.

Actually, it'll be pretty easy to tell once they start offering them.

The only ambiguous model number is 5000+. If you see 4200+ or 4600+, those are exclusively 90nm. 4400+ and 4800+ are 65nm, and even though AMD used to sell these as 90nm variants, they did not make the transition to socket AM2, and the OEMs don't carry them.

OEMs like HP also use GHz numbers after the model number, and 65nm use half multipliers (such as 2.1GHz, 2.3GHz, and 2.5GHz). Again, the 2.6GHz 5000+ is the only ambiguous one.

You can look all day long on Dell's or HP's websites, but you will not find half multipliers, nor will you find 65nm exclusive model numbers.

If the 65nms were all going to OEMs, how would we know what their presence is?

AMD claimed immediate availability of systems in their intro on Dec 5th. Nobody has ever seen one. What would you call this if Intel claimed immediate availability and 6 weeks later none had ever been seen? You'd call it a lie. Why can't you come to grips with what's right in front of your face? AMD lied and you're in denial.
