Well, it a fine line.. you can't contribute in return for licenses. To me awarding licenses to companies already in bussiness makes sence ... someone else had to have been denied? Being highly regulated thus under microscope, I'm sure GTI wouldn't take any such risk! It's likely all just a sign of success -- layers don't go for money from rocks.

The first suit I know of was a trademark infringement brought by edible arrangements against GTI over edible trademark in incredibles. Sounds frivolous, but like I said it is sign of success! It's said a layer with a briefcase can steal more than 100 thiefs.
