I suspect there is a huge amount of manipulation through collusive trading and other common tactics used in the stock market. There are no rules and nobody watching. It’s the equivalent of a casino run in a warehouse, with no state gaming control. The only somewhat moderating factor is the very high volume and liquidity.
Bottom line, i think it will be more difficult to break out of trading ranges. The traders are content to play the swings and they are well aware of the key levels.
