It wasn't even on the radar prior to the Pandemic. But that doesn't mean we need a pandemic to make it work from here on out:
Influenza doesn't shut everything down but it has 500,000 hospitalizations each year in the United States. COVID will be remaining with us permanently. A disease this infectious that can mutate and reinfect as COVID appears to do will last a long time.
Assuming COVID can be brought down to that level:
500,000 hospitalizations x $200/treatment = $100,000,000/year in revenue in the United States alone.
What does that do to a company with a $120M market cap? Aside from fully funding the company and the pipeline it likely shoots the stock up to $3-5B+.
That ignores all the potential use in Influenza, Pneumonia, and other viral infections.
