Ok that makes sense now. I wasn't following you on the one share because that is such an odd amount. lol but,
I would have thought that I would be told I don't have the shares available to sell, or that it's a duplicate order, but no.
That is how it should be! If you are putting in an order to sell something they need to tell you that there are no shares available in your account. If you were trying to short it, then you would put in an order to sell-short. That is a different type of order.
