It is just an instance of MMs attempting to wear down retail to try and drum up selling, that is the typical goal, try to get retail to eventually cave in and sell which has just not worked what so ever.

Any increase in volume on the ask and MM;s will back off quick and let the price move up, but without seeing any signs of encroachment on the ask they will continue to try and wait out retail in the idea that retail will eventually sell, it just won't work here

I have no doubt that it is coming. Don't know when but everything they have done so far points in that direction.
