QNTA is a rare case where the toxic financier is long 5 million shares so it is a much better scenario to let the stock appreciate. Sure, Canouse will get paid back either way but he will get much bigger money by letting is run up.
I don't see any toxic death spiral here unless this is a scam (which it is clearly not).
