PayDirt. You cannot trade on exchanges where you don't have accounts, just like you can't bank with banks where you don't have accounts. This is not speculation. I was told that by Lisa at Virtua Broker. Trading between exchanges will be possible, I believe, but no trading will be possible in the BETA test. That is for searching and testing of functionality only. . Buying and selling across platforms should be possible like it is to transfer money between banks, but you will have to be registered with both, I ASSUME. Think of it this way. If you want to shop online, you have to sign up with the retailers where you shop. Not a big deal, IMO. Will it be everything to everyone? Doubt it, but it should be a big improvement over what currently exists. (Speculation!!!) Fingers crossed!
