Thanks, BR. I've researched the effectiveness of technical_analysis extensively, and while there are many articles that mention it, real proof simply doesn't exist.... Not in the popular press and not in academic literature.
Think of it this way: If T/A worked, wouldn't mutual funds or ETFs exist that have it in their names, such as "The Fidelity Charting Fund" or the "Vanguard Technical Analysis Fund?" Well there have been some like that over the decades but they've all gone of out business, and pretty quickly.
BTW, I have nothing against Barrick. As a Buffett fan, I even thought about buying it when I saw he bought some (and just a tiny amount by Berkshire Hathaway standards)
