I was one of the many people in touring that was laid off, luckily I was able to pivot quickly to another career, many of my friends were not.
Those stagehands, Production Managers, guitar techs, roadies, stylists, hair and makeup, musicians, backup singers, venue managers, merch makers/sellers (the list goes on) have specific skill sets that do not easily cross over to other careers.
For the 2 months I was unemployed the extended unemployment was helpful. Although I lost a ton of money in 2020 the extra unemployment was welcomed, I can assume the people i listed about feel the same.
