Classic example by the MMs to demoralize the buyers with tight spreads to entice profit takers to whack the bid. This will attract more sellers and crash the stock to the level of low enough volume to signal its cover time for whomever is shorting.
I will be looking for the post walk-down bottom here for a starter.
