Only if one does not understand what short volume actually is.

Short volume can be either buying or selling. It usually comes due to the lapse between a buy/sell or a sell/buy by a MM. At the end of the day it all cancels out.

PSSSST. It is not short selling.

Short interest is what real investors look at. It is only reported twice per month.
