Canada is mostly driven by commodities as I understand it. Precious metals, oil, timber, etc etc. While the health of the Canadian economy is inexorably connected to the health of the US economy I think the questions to be asked should be 1) how much does a falling dollar affect the consumption of these commodities and 2) How does a falling dollar affect the real price of the commodities (by real I mean 1 domestic basket of goods = 1 foreign basket of goods ratio).

Good info. So I guess it would safe to assume that a long-term long on the USD/CAD wouldn't be a bad trade? I just might open up a demo and start trading this pair to see how I do. That's what I did with the GBP/USD before I went live with this pair, and now I absolutely love it... I currenty make the most money with it and it's my new favorite play.
