I wouldn't laugh just yet.
You do realise that each and every patient will need to be followed up for 29 days?

Even if every single patient were recruited on Day 1 ( they won't be) then by the time you had collated the CRFs, analysed the data, done the stats and performed quality checks, it would take at least two months from start to finish.
So oldprof1 estimate of three months is reasonable but probably a little optimistic.
If the DMC decide to tweak anything it will extend the finishing time further (and play havoc with the analysis and the significance stats).
