The thing Intel needs to fix is execution, and I think Pat is the guy to do that. Intel has gotten fat and lazy and that needs to change.

I don't see much of a change in strategic direction. I think they had that pretty well dialed in.

There may be a sacrificial business unit, just to show the others that he means business:-)

My answer to most of them is "I don't know".

But I think Gelsinger will lay out his strategic plan (whatever it is) within a couple of months. And I think his plan will be heavily concentrated in regaining process leadership (focus on long term internal sourcing) with smaller helpings of outside foundry sourcing of specific products in the short-to-mid term.

But these are the musings of a fellow gone from Intel since 1998 and they are worth what you paid for them. ;-)
