The biggest problem with selling is that we expect it to pull back so we can rebuy, but often it doesn't and we end up losing shares.

I've quit trying to scalp to raise share count as my track record is 2-2 and I'm actually down about 2000 shares as a result of my attempts. Thankfully other positions have treated me well and I've been able to increase that way.
