I don't know but my guess would be that someone knows something about a positive development that is coming and is accumulating ahead of the news. Could be a legal settlement with Apple, could be some positive commercial development...
Anyone working for this company above the customer service level must be doing so because they want to participate in a payday. Otherwise it's a waste of one's working years. Maybe that day is coming.
