Gennady Salych, Chairman of the Board of Freedom Finance Bank, made a presentation at the XXI International Forum iFin-2021, dedicated to electronic financial services and technologies.
In the discussion section, the subject of which was electronic financial services and services for individuals, Gennady Salych spoke about trends in the banking and stock market, the need to shorten the customer journey (CJM) for remote services and the experience of Freedom Finance Bank in this direction. The speaker also provided statistics on the popularity of investment products among Russians, spoke about the main stages of interaction with the regulator, and also presented a forecast for the banking sector for the current year.
Gennady Salych noted the explosive growth of Russians' interest in the stock market last year, stressing that this trend was supported primarily by the pandemic, high market volatility, as well as a decrease in the yield of classic banking products. Lending institutions and brokers have focused their efforts on developing remote banking services, introducing collective investment products, and promoting training programs for first-time investors in securities.
According to the Moscow Exchange, the number of its unique clients has doubled over the past year, reaching 8.8 million. The client base of the St. Petersburg Stock Exchange has increased by 87%, to 5 million. Strong results in this direction were demonstrated by IK Freedom Finance: the number of opened in the company accounts in 2020 more than doubled, to 91 thousand. Bank "Freedom Finance", according to Gennady Salych, increased its client base by 60%, it exceeded 24 thousand.
“In our opinion, this year the stock market will remain highly attractive for retail investors. As a result, credit institutions and brokers will continue to improve remote communication channels and develop investment business lines through new products and services.
