Westport does have many patents on this process. They have been working on these systems for some time now. I have not heard of any other company who has the knowledge and or expertise in this area. I became aware of them some 6 / 8 years ago.
Their connection / partnership with CMI has produced the 3 best NatGas engines in the world. The real game changer came when they introduced the 12L for heavy duty application.
Mr Johnson their CEO has been very instrumental in moving this company forward. They are now in position to land many more contracts with Truckers / transit authority( buses), and refuse equipment.
UPS, has been one of their customers for years. Less known KWIK Trip also runs their engines, along with many others.
China will soon be approving their 2.0 engine and India should be coming on line any day.
The future points to millions more in sales. This is just the start, imo.
