I don’t disagree with you for the most part.
Covid itself will actually never go away, and most likely is now endemic, and simply another pathogen among us similar to other coronaviruses, flu, cmv, rsv etc.

But the de-risk has already made Substantial steps through various vaccines (pfe, moderna, j&j less so) and multiple effective therapeutics (iPix, AMPE).

It will still be some time, certainly, before things are back to “normal”, but I feel equally the opposite as you state and believe it’s laughable for someone to think it never will recover.
