I hear ya. CBD is a different animal. I think Altria is in a position where the can capture some USA market share for hemp as a raw material. Since tobacco is in a downtrend in USA (but still growing in other countries) - US tobacco farmers can turn part of their crops to growing hemp for raw material and further processing to cbd oils/derivatives.
But I agree with you, MJ and THC derivatives is where most of the opportunity is.
The lab created cbd and/or THC is interesting - but not sure how it will be received by consumers. For lab created CBD in edibles....probably won't be a big deal. But THC....there is the ritual involved in rolling own joints or dabs/waxes.... and different effects w/ indica vs. sativa.
Altria certainly will be able produce quantity of decent quality mj flower, but CRONOS may be in a better position to cultivate better quality when using genetics to cultivate certain strains....for micro smokes.
