Those companies you listed were all doing something new. They had something to offer that competitors didn’t. They were moving into unoccupied space.

Google was also funded by a number of private equity firms. It was never a penny stock selling convertible notes. It never had a guy who was prohibited from selling securities in California on its board. It actually had employees from the moment it was incorporated. It didn’t have a strange licensing agreement where Larry Page and Sergey Brin received 7% of its revenue. Its founders had computer science experience. Brin actually graduated college at only 19 years old. They weren’t just some guys who worked at the family roofing company. I’m not completely certain, but I don’t think they ever had a chat room where shareholders sent them cat gifs every morning.
