#3121 RE: Telephonics #3104

Telephonics:

>The FDA requires that all information acquired during a clinical trial be held confidential by both the FDA and the company conducting the trial. Only at ASCO may some information about results be made public.<

1) Isn't the trial OVER at this point, thus the news release?

2) What does ASCO have to do with FDA approval for any oncology drug? Aside from being a well attended event to tell oncologists about a drug...

ASCO has the news embargo so they can get more people to show up for and pay to attend the ASCO meeting. Period.

Any Wall Street firm that is willing to pay an oncologist can get their hands on the abstracts before the general public can. The American Society of Hematology (ASH) meeting has chosen to make their abstracts available to everyone at the same time to avoid this disparity.

Do you think the results of the PACCE trial will be withheld until ASCO for FDA approval?

Thanks in advance.
