I think they are. At the very least we get the 30 billion, but I think Thompson did them a huge favor by not trying to be the hero here.

He is letting the supreme court take credit for the full beat down because he didn't ask for it like he was in charge.

It's called a reverse sell close and it works more times than not. IMO
