Well, I do not know. I know the code was initially added for 1/1/2021. This site seems to tell their staff it goes active 1/21. Several others that were listed for 1/1 are also listed to start 1/21 as well. I think the 1/1 date was stating when it would be used at the earliest. But since the drug has not been approved at this point, it is not being used in billing and I do not believe being used in any medical record. It is not active on the CMS site as of this writing, so hospitals are not using it today, as far as I know. (Coders I know are at hospital trial sites so they are not using it). Lots of speculation. I am not stating this is positive or negative, just another thing to consider and make my melon hurt sometimes. This may have been updated since the original came out, but it was stating 1/21 at one time.
