“ Supports” my view would have been more accurate. The more real things you can find to support your position, the more likely you are to be correct. Your assumption is based on there being a real reason for the run up which as you said is unknown and unknowable.

it reflex's a correction from a run from under .50.

The only thing that makes this true is that it is seen in hindsight.(I know duh)
It's the ones that don't correct that the reasons are crystal clear.
