There is no good reason for any company to stop reporting. The only reason to do that would be to hide their actions. A legitimate company would want to be transparent for their shareholders to keep them informed of what progress is being made or their actions being taken. By going dark shareholders will know nothing they will know nothing that the company is doing they will know nothing about the financials they will know nothing about the share structure. Shareholders will be completely in the dark. Quoting for the stock will be completely in the dark there will be no level 2 only a bid and ask. They are basically now a gray sheet stock. A lot of brokerage houses won’t even trade these stocks after they go dark so limited amount of people will even be able to buy and sell the stock now

That's denial. Why do you think so many companies are in a hurry to become current? The SEC is cracking down on these OTC shells. Not only will you not be able to buy XMET on Fidelity but soon stop signs will be no quote(grey) on TDA and Etrade. There's no denying this.
