Steve Kirsch was never involved with Starwave until it got folded into SEEK with Disney's initial investment in SEEK and the whole GO.com thing. Starwave had already been partially purchased by Disney with options to buy the rest of the company over a period of a few years - the same kind of deal that Disney did with SEEK.

Starwave was run by CEO Mike Slade, CTO-cum-President Patrick Naughton, and VPs Tom Phillips and Curt Blake. Phillips was responsible for much of the successful Starwave strategies that created ESPN.com, ABCNews.com, MrShowbiz and WallofSound - though unfortunately he was 'nudged' out when Starwave was folded into Infoseek. Mike and Curt left and slipped off to other things after a short period, and unfortunately, we all know all too well what happened to Patrick.
