I would think finding a solution to the problem without creating a liability for the company would be more promotion worthy.
We have talked about a few ways patented technology can get into a companies product. Once the company discovers this they have three choices: (A) Ignore it and hope it goes away (B) Design it out (C) Seek a license
We have plenty of evidence of Intel doing (B) and (C). Do you have evidence of Intel doing (A)?
For the corporation ignoring it is generally a losing strategy as the liability only grows as they ship more product. It also opens them up to willful infringement.
