Guardion Health Sciences Inc. on Monday said Bret Scholtes would join the company as president and chief executive officer as of Jan. 6, 2021.

The company also said Mr. Scholtes would become a member of the board.

Prior to joining Guardion, Mr. Scholtes had been CEO of Omega Protein Corporation, the company said. Before that, he served as Vice President, Origination at GE Energy Financial Services and also worked at Price Waterhouse and Arthur Andersen & Co., Guardion said.

Guardion said it is "a specialty health sciences company that develops clinically supported nutrition, medical foods and medical devices, with a focus in the ocular health marketplace."
