Jean..MS's "Sync" technology is
their updated version of Voice Commands..It requires the user to connect into this system with their portable devices..I am hoping for all that get it in a new car purchase..that it will work better than their previous version worked..Voice commands was really put down in almost every article I have read..VR is moving into all facets of daily living and there is room for many players..Onev has not directed their tech towards the auto industry yet..They once were heading that way but did not get the bid..and dropped it..That was a long time ago and the other VR really didn't catch on and was basly reviewed..We will have to see if this newer version grabs the public's eye..It will benefit all if it does..Nuance has also moved into the auto industry and it should be fun to see who has the better product in the long term..Both Nuance and MS have left off two main features in their technology..CC and Voice reply to email which is available through MC..MCC and MV..I do know some OEM's are looking at putting MC and MCC tech into cars as an add in feature..That would replace users already existing tech in their cars..That might be a way for Onev to break into that sector..but Onev is not pushing that way..The OEMs are..It is their MC's that will be used..and it will be up to the OEM's to move that forward..Right now Onev is concentrating on MC's in the home and MV for the carriers..At this time..their VR has trumped others with all the features they offer..In any case MV and MCC are just now starting to get noticed..When the remote is made available and Vista comes out..MCC will have its run..When Telnor and Telmex launch MV will have shown all that it can be a viable tech for all users..That is what we have been waiting for..Competition is good and the more VR that comes out and actually works as advertised..the more people will want to use it...veno

Jean, Here's an old article on VR in the auto. There's also other players like Voicebox and Onstar. ONEV had an auto demo a few years back with Shuttle.
