They wanted the GSEs business, I believe. They realized it was too much to handle, plus they don't want the 30years loans on their books... max they want maybe 10 to 15yrs, plus they only want the cream of the crop...

They “want” their business....honestly, they don’t have a choice but to accept their business. Not a choice really at all. The economy requires banks to accept the gses. Period.
