I use 5 % trailing stops behind a ton of my large caps and use stop losses behind a lot of small mid-small caps once they are up to levels where I want profit and establish when to put the loss into effect.
Protection of profits is key.
It has safes me tons of $$$$$$ of the decades doing this.
