Yes, the focus is directly on Mnuchin for the next month now.

Some of this is going to depend on how much time he needs to spend on the budget issues and stimulus package.

The good news is that no matter what, he will get some additional time to review the GSE matter after December 18th when congress leaves for break.

I also continue to believe that he and Calabria.....in particular Calabria....are in discussions with Yellen about the path forward, once the Biden administration takes over. We have also heard through the grapevine that Crapo and Warner had dinner with Mnuchin to discuss a number of matters, which may have included the GSE's.

Piecing it all together, it sounds to me as if a plan of action, going forward, is desired by all parties. But we have seen over the last six months how partisan politics can really screw things up. Its very easy to feel negative about the politics of this situation, as it stands.

This all brings me back to the original point.....the focus is on Mnuchin for the next month.

NOLO CONTENDERE.....

If Mnooch really wants to get this done ASAP, he
should tell the defense to change their plea to
nolo contendere ("no contest") and inform the Court
that govt will go along with whatever remedy is
determined by the Court.

Nolo contendere is not an admission of guilt but rather
a statement by a party that they do not wish to continue
the trial but rather go to the sentencing or remedying phase.

It's very obvious that the NWS will not stand, and it's up to
the Court to decide whether or not remedy will be prospective
or retroactive. If this is going to happen anyway, why
wait 6 months to hear this result? Re-caps, IPO's, etc. can proceed as planned in the meantime, without the "overhang" of pending litigation, which in all likelihood will keep new capital away until the case is decided.

If DJT has a say in this, I think there is a good chance he will tell the defense to nolo contendere the case, and have F and F
on their way to freedom, never to be encumbered again by Uncle Joe and company. In other words, "ATM machine will be closed forever,
sorry Joe"....
