Dude it don't take much shorting by MM's to knock down OTC stocks, that easily panics longs to sell out that were sitting on profits and creates sell downs, not that long I spent some time on the phone with my online broker going over what's really available to short in the OTC stocks I was holding, and all were labeled hard to borrow, not available, limited, and just about all of them had been labeled that, to my surprise many of them really were available to short with shares available to borrow.
