Because the shares have value worth approximately $0.17 and the street knows it. Keep in mind there is well over 40 million shorts that also need to cover if they so choose

JCPenney's is not a bankrupt company. They emerged from chapter 11 protection

This is just some simple profit-taking. Keep in mind the stock was at $0.11 just a couple days ago and it ran all the way to 24.5 cents I believe do people ring the register

We are heading back to $0.17 now. The stock is completely oversold
