In their defense; and let me clarify, there isn’t much to defend. I don’t think this is necessarily a hoax. The properties and claims are real; and currently represent the only real assets that could ever produce any shareholder value. The bottom line is, that it’s clearly a gamble; but, as long as that is kept in perspective, and no one is “betting the farm” on this, it could end up profitably for those that are long. (Pigs could also someday fly as well)
