Please read the article above..As to the need to treat NAFLD in HIV..As you very appropriately point out..The very treatment for HIV.. contributes to the ENHANCEMENT of NAFLD in the HIV population..!!! However these drugs are essential to keep them ALIVE..!!!

So ... Our current patients in Combo therapy..ARE RECEIVING THESE DRUGS ...AND.... LERONLIMAB..!!!

If we do an MRI-PDFF.. on THESE PATIENTS.. and see the rate of NAFLD DRASTICALLY REDUCED FROM THE 50% quoted by Dr Sherman..in this population (In Dr Kelly’s reply to ombowstring).. Where does that lead us..???

1. Applying for a Phase 2/3 Biopsy Study of NASH..!!!

2. Applying for..Can anyone say..An EUA for NASH in HIV patients..!!! There is NOTHING AVAILABLE TO PREVENT THESE PATIENTS FROM GOING ONTO CIRRHOSIS..CANCER..AND LIVER FAILURE..!!!

In my mind..We have to take advantage of EVERY ARROW IN OUR QUIVER..WE HAVE BEEN GIFTED THIS GOLDEN ARROW..Why not see if it is the real McCoy..???

What is the cost of doing an MRI-PDFF on our trial patients..?? I volunteer to do ALL our HIV patients FREE OF COST AT MY HOSPITAL..(Those that live in Ohio)..I’ll pick up the tab..PERIOD..!!! Let’s see what we’ve got..!!!
