“Bottom line, if deaths in the USA show no spike in 2020 due to COVID 19.”

The below information was taken from the CDC website on death counts. It appears that the overall deaths will be higher in 2020 then in previous years, likely due to COVID.

1. The 12 month running overall death count from June 2019 to June 2020 was 3,000,038. That’s higher than 12 month running death count of 2,823,000 from June 2018 death to June 2019.

2. The total death count from January 2020 through June 2020 is 1,626,000, according to CDC data. That’s on pace for 3,252,000 deaths in 2020. That would equate to 352,000 more deaths in 2020 than 2019.

3. The average death count per month based on January to June 2020 data is 271,000. If we include November using the average death count for 2020, the estimated death count through November 2020 would be 2,981,00.
