Way to soon to call it. Americans seem to have very short memories and jump from one news story to the next. T-Day , Xmas, and New Years between now and then...I think most won't even be thinking about it be they Rep or Dem.
Regardless, FNMA is on a path through SCOTUS unless SC/MC do something between now and Jan that mitigates all the law suits. Also by all accounts I have read that "settlement" better happen before SCOTUS hears it on the 9th or SCOTUS will be unhappy if they settle after the hearing and not before...but I know as much as anyone and just guessing like everyone based on 11 plus years of following the FNMA saga. So whoever is in charge they will only have so much power once it is in SCOTUS hands. Only way congress could do anything really is to write a law and pass it. And that is impossible in the current political climate. They had 12 years and nothing ever even made it out of a congressional committee let alone a vote. One way or another this is coming to an end sooner than later and I have bet that holding shares when it does will be be financially rewarding. Nothing but a little time now especially if you have waited for years. It is always hardest at the end when waiting for something.
