Why? Like it always does, the GSE's give back at some point and this could be no different. There's no real valid explanation for the spike, and those that shorted when it f=got to $2.75-$2.80 the other day are not "toast". I don't have enough courage to short anything, but I'm just suggesting the obvious here...no one knows a thing.
