So if B proves effective 100% of the time (as an example only) and the standard of care provides 85% effectiveness in the trial, what do they report?

That B proved effective 100% of the time

or

That B was 15% more effective than the standard of care?

IMO I cannot see how this is an apples to apples test since there is currently NO treatment/vaccine/antibody/etc that helps when SEVERE symptoms are being treated.

All the other current methods of treatment are only for none to mild symptoms so if B simply proved effective in ANY of those treated it would be a heck of a lot better than anything available now.

I am sure almost every hospitalized patient is receiving fluids via IV. Remember remdesivir takes like 3 days. This current trial will fill up in 2-3 weeks with multiple hospitals in at least 2 countries.
