I have long stated that under the right circumstances the common can outperform the preferred. Some people are also very content on holding the preferred for redemption or until the dividends come back on. To each their own.

Can you share the calculations if someone had did the exact opposite (Sold Commons and Bought JPS) on Wednesday?

You could probably go back a few months to show the amount of money that could've been made.
